Toronto born, Amanda Birchard (aka Menda Rose) is a singer, dancer, actor, songwriter, pianist, bandleader, and licensed OCT music / drama educator. Amanda’s accumulated studies have granted her an MA in Music Education, a BFA in Music Theatre Performance, and a B.Ed. in Secondary Education. For 10 years, Amanda worked professionally throughout North America as an Equity singer / dancer / actor. Under the artist name Menda Rose, Amanda has one acoustic album of original works titled Hammers & Bones.  Select performance venues in Toronto include El Mocambo, The Pilot, Revival, and Cameron House. 

In conjunction with Glenmore Records, Amanda features two “live off the floor, one-take” music videos for her tunes Here Here, Now Now and Mama Bean. Amanda is the band leader and front vocalists for funk / soul cover band "mR and the SC" (Menda Rose & the Sweet Collective) of which an EP was released in 2010. "mR and the SC" perform regularly throughout the GTA and were guests of the 2013 Toronto Beach Jazz Festival.

With Kuhl Muzik, Amanda is a session singer, voice actor, and director for child voice actors. Amanda has been teaching children and adults for 19 years. Teaching venues include private music studios and schools, Universities, the TDSB, TCDSB, LKTYP, and summer camps throughout the GTA. As a research assistant, Amanda taught music in Iqaluit, Nunavut and with the Healthy Earth School, Amanda designed a primary Music Theatre program. Amanda recently finished a contract with the TCDSB teaching band for 325 students and is currently the Administrative Coordinator with Regent Park School of Music.
